Common Types of Positive Displacement Blowers

While the construction and operation of positive displacement blowers can vary, they all serve the same purpose: facilitating the movement of materials. PD blowers operate by trapping and discharging air to propel materials through pipes or hoses, making bulk transport faster and more efficient.

Positive Displacement Blower Operation

Positive displacement blowers expel air into pipes or hoses to facilitate material movement. During operation, the rotors rotate, drawing air into the inlet port. This air is compressed in tight spaces between the rotors and the casing before being discharged through the outlet. The term “positive displacement” indicates that the air volume remains constant within the blower but is moved from one end to the other during operation.
